Subject: Crofton Meeting

Dear Mr. Hawkins:

Thank you for your letter regarding Norske-Canada's application to burn alternate auxiliary fuels at their Crofton location.

I was unable to attend the recent meeting but have been in communication with the Ministry of Energy and Mines regarding this issue and have received letters and phone calls from concerned constituents.  I am certainly not in favour of the application and was pleased to see that Norske-Canada would likely be shelving their plans for the burning of auxiliary fuels.

I have forwarded copies of all the communications I have received on this subject to the Minister of Energy and Mines, the Honourable Richard Neufeld along with my concerns.

Please be advised that I will continue to monitor any further developments on this issue. Thank you once again for making me aware of your feelings on this subject.

Sincerely yours,

Murray Coell, MLA
Saanich North and the Islands
