The Crofton Airshed Citizens Group (CACG)  is a group of citizens of the Crofton area in British Columbia, Canada who have come together over concerns about the air emissions of the Catalyst Crofton pulp mill situated in the town of Crofton.

1.     CACG is a working group of local volunteers who are concerned about toxic emissions from the Crofton pulp and paper mill. Participation is open to anyone living in the Crofton mill airshed who agrees with the CACG constitution and who wishes to further its goals.

2.     CACG exists to advocate for the adoption of best possible technologies to identify, monitor, and reduce pollution from the Crofton mill, and to advocate for the adoption of policies leading to the deployment of such technologies.

3.     CACG believes that its objectives are shared by Catalyst and its employees in that reduced pollution improves the long-term viability of industry and provides better working conditions and greater job security for employees.

4.     CACG recognizes that air emissions from all sources are additive. All sources within an airshed need to be included when assessing health impacts, and toxic emissions reduction strategies are needed for all sources.

5.     CACG positions are precautionary and science-based, being supported on a regular basis by independent scientists, consultants and current research.
